Our Family in Business

Our Family in Business

This is me at work with my youngest baby, i often hear the question "Can women be mothers and run their own business? "

Hell yes we can! Is it hard? Yes it is!

What works for one might not work for another. Because we run a toy store and children are coming and going all day we are lucky enough that we can take our children to work with us, we truly are a family business through the wonderful productive times and also the moments of chaos. I often hear people talking about finding that work home balance, but with young children it changes every week, some weeks it just works and other weeks nothing does.

I find the key is letting go of control and keeping focus. We focus on customer service first and foremost. Without you guys, we wouldn't be here and we are so grateful for the support of our local community and all our online customers.

Being a mother and running a business has been such a journey, I love the challenge, i love that we get to work all together as a family and what we provide with our store, running a business really opens you up to being part of the community, i have met so many beautiful families and had the pleasure of watching many children grow from babies to lovely little children, i wouldn't have it any other way.

We are quite flexible with what we do, we take our children into the shop with us most days, often brad is in the shop holding the fort all week and i get to come and go with the children, working in between their naps and knocking off some computer work when they are enjoying some play time. Our eldest often enjoys helping out with stocking shelves and of course testing out all the toys!

We have a large back area to our shop where we have set up a lovely play area for the kids, there is large windows and a cute courtyard to look out on to so we spend a lot of our time out there. When the children start to become a bit wild we pop down to the local park where the mountains meet the sea, the views are stunning and we all enjoy the sun and fresh air.

I feel it is becoming more common to find women following their passions, running their own business's while being mothers and its fantastic, challenging and rewarding.

A big thank you to all who follow our story and support our family business, it means the world to us xx
